During a trip to Italy in 2014, Green visited Casa Morandi an experience that became a true personal pilgrimage. From that encounter came a meditative and poetic body of work, developed between Assisi and the United States, in which the artist created simple still lifes using found objects. The aim is not to imitate Morandi’s pictorial style, but to evoke his gaze one of silence, focus, and contemplation.
The photographs on display reflect a slow and thoughtful process, where light, composition, and repetition become tools of an essential visual language. As curator Steve Bisson states, “it is not merely a tribute to a painter, but the meeting of two kindred visions, capable of making us see the world as if for the first time.”
