The historic circuit on the banks of the Santerno hosted the Italian GP for the first time in 1980 to replace Monza. The San Marino GP has been on the calendar since 1981 and will run for 26 editions, up to 2006. The curves of Tosa and Rivazza have been the scene of the legendary challenges that have fascinated fans for years.
The greatest F1 champions raced on this track, starting with Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost, Nigel Mansell, Riccardo Patrese. The record of victories is held by Michael Schumacher who crossed the line first 7 times.
