Ironia della Moda is the second exhibition of the photographer Stefano Bertolucci at the Grand Hotel Majestic. Vintage clothes and photographs enter into dialogue with the testimonies of ancient Rome preserved in the hotel's subsoil. A game of perspectives between past and present, the result of a shooting made from the collection of vintage clothing by Alessio Modonesi, owner of Icons Luxury & Vintage. The event is a preview of the exhibition that will be set up at Castello of Belgioioso, in the province of Pavia, from 5 to 8 April 2019, on the occasion of Next Vintage. The ironic value evoked in the title stands out in this reflection between reality and staging. After all, fashion is eternal because it is ephemeral: trends disappear and re-emerge, live their intense season and then become vintage classics to be reinterpreted. Photography is eternal for the opposite reasons, it fixes changeability in a definitive form. Around, the stones of the Roman road, walked for millennia. These too are eternal and the restoration carried out by the Duetorrihotels group has returned it to our present.
